Religious Education is taught following the ‘Leeds and York Diocesan Syllabus. We use the Understanding Christianity scheme which forms a central part of the Diocesan Syllabus for RE. Our RE curriculum enables pupils to develop an overall understanding of Christianity and of some of the other principal religions of the UK. Our curriculum enables pupils to have confidence in who they are and what they believe. It equips them to engage in meaningful and informed dialogue with those of different beliefs, which is essential in preparing pupils to live in our diverse and ever changing world.
All children participate in a daily act of worship with a broadly Christian content.
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from Religious Education lessons. Please contact school if you would like to discuss this further.
